Domestic incident involved a gun

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported the arrest of a Monroe County man following a domestic incident in which a gun was involved. Police said the incident began about 9:48 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the home of Richard Snyder, 42, and Cheryl Snyder, 43, of 207 Lakeside Drive, in the Indian Mountain Lakes development in Albrightsville.

Police were dispatched to the home for a domestic dispute with shots fired. En route Cheryl Snyder made contact with officers by phone and said her husband, Richard, and her had a verbal dispute. She claimed Richard made threats to shoot their computer where she was sitting. She said he went into their bedroom, retrived a 9mm handgun and then walked outside and fired 15 rounds in an unknown direction. He then returned into the home with the gun and then went to a neighbors house.Police said they located him at a neighbors' home and took him into custody. He was charged with simple assault and harassment.
