Journey pays off

Laura Moore Kelly, 45, of Rockville, Md., drove to Pottsville to attend a hearing in court on her appeal from a $25 fine imposed on her for alleged violation of the motor vehicle code.She was charged by Trooper Richard J. Nesbitt with failing to drive within a single lane on Interstate 81. She was stopped in Foster Township last Nov. 25. Judge John E. Domalakes found her not guilty and the fine and cost of $121.50 imposed by a district justice was dismissed. The fine was $25 and costs $96.50.Pleads guiltyMatthew A. Clovis, 19, of Hempstead, N.Y., pleaded guilty to posession of a small amount of marijuana on the grounds of Schuylkill Campus of Penn State University in North Manhein Township and was sentenced by Judge Domalakes to serve 30 days on probation, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education fund, a $50 a month supervision fee and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Bench warrant hearingsKevin A. Kasten, 37, of Leesport, after a hearing in court had a bench warrant issued against him dissolved and the bail he had forfeited and he was remanded to prison to stand trial on charges of theft. He was cited by Trooper Mark Ruscavage in September 2007 of stealing and using a fuel credit card taken from Fegley's Garage and Trucking Company in Oneida, Union Township.Joseph E. Boris III, 20, Minersville, was brought to court on a bench warrant but after a hearing had his bail reinstated by Judge Domalakes and instructed when released from prison he must report to the public defender's office to prepare to stand trial on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuna and drug paraphernalia and underage drinking when cited by Minersville Patrolman Richard C. Clink, in March 2010.
