The go-ahead was given by the Zoning Hearing Board of Adjustments in Lehighton for the construction of the first subsidized family apartment complex in Carbon County. The six-building complex will be built in the vicinity of Gypsy Hill Road and Mahoning Street, across the street from Meadowcrest Park. The complex will consist of a dozen one-bedroom, 38 two-bedroom, and 16 three-bedroom apartments. There will also be four two-bedroom apartments included for the handicapped.
