Nesquehoning police are investigating the theft of 52 bronze/copper flag holders.

Police Chief Sean Smith said the holders were reported stolen on March 15 from St. John's Russian Cemetery. Also taken were 12 holders from St. Mary's Cemetery. The cemeteries are located off SR209, near Macaluso's Restaurant.The American flag holders were stolen from the grave sites of World War I and II, Korea War and Vietnam War veterans, Smith said.Anyone with information concerning these thefts is asked to call police.
