Science and technology are important subjects in the field of education.

St. Jerome Regional School, Tamaqua, designates a week every March to celebrate Science/technology in its school and in its community. The students make special projects this month to show their skills in science/technology.Special events with guest speakers are planned this week.Activities include:March 21 - Demonstration by Air Products Inc. (Gr. K -8)March 22 - Parents are invited to computer class to observe the computer program (Gr. K,1,2,3,5)March 23 - Schuylkill County Drug & Alcohol Program (Gr. 1-6); Schuylkill County Kick Butts Day. "Tobacco Free: It's About Me" event at Penn State Schuylkill (Gr. 8)March 24 - SJRS Open House, 6:30-8 p.m. Visit the classrooms and see technology in action and classroom science projects.March 24 - Discovery Education Presentation - Shannon Gaumer will be working with students, showing them how to search and use media to enhance their learning and understanding in all subject areas. (Gr. K -8)March 25 - My blood, your blood program (Gr. 4-8); Parents are invited to Friday computer classes. (Gr. 4,6,7,8).
