On Thursday afternoon, the appointed Carbon County Election Board members drew lots to determine the position of the candidates on the ballots for the upcoming May primary election.Lisa Dart, the county director of elections, explained the process to Charles E. Wildoner, Lee G. Becker, and Gabriel A. Fritz, the current election board, prior to beginning the casting of lots.Wildoner, Becker and Fritz were appointed by the Court of Common Pleas last month to serve on the board in place of Commissioners William O'Gurek, Charles Getz and Wayne Nothstein, who are seeking re-election to the board of commissioners during this year's election.Under the election code, three county individuals must be appointed to serve on the election board when the commissioners are running for re-election.Candidates for each office were listed in alphabetical order.
