The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has placed a 26-ton (39-ton for combinations) weight restriction on the Hatchery Road Bridge over Wild Creek in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

A recent inspection of the bridge showed deterioration to the bridge beams. Vehicles weighing over 26-tons or 39-tons for combinations must seek an alternate route.The Hatchery Road Bridge is a non-composite box beam bridge built in 1956. It is 27 feet long and 28.9 feet wide. This area of Hatchery Road has an average daily traffic volume of 360 vehicles.Follow PennDOT on Twitter at
