THE JROTC of the Panther Valley High School plans to meet on Thursday, March 17 at 6 p.m. in the classroom of the high school.May 13 is the Awards Night program.Summit HillCat licensingSummit Hill Borough officials remind residents the borough has a cat ordinance that requires owners of cats to obtain a license for the pet.The fee is $5, which includes $4 for the license and $1 for registration and the registration tag.Any person who presents a certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian stating the cat has been spayed or neutered is entitled to a reduction of $2 off the license fee for each annual renewal.The licenses are available at the office of borough secretary Kira Michalik during regular business hours.St. Paul LutheranA mid-week Lenten service will be held tonight in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill. Soup and sandwiches will be served at 6:15 and the worship will follow at 7 o'clock. The lesson will be on "The Faith of Noah."Lions to meetThe monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Lions Club will be held on Tuesday, March 22, at 6 p.m. at the St. Gabriel's Italian Club. The guest speaker for the evening will be Judy Hoppes from the American Cancer Society. Members are asked to make their plans to attend known by Sunday, March 20.Historical societyThe Summit Hill Historical Society will meet tonight at 7 o'clock in the society's museum on East Ludlow Street. President Lee Mantz will conduct the business session.Among the topics of discussion will be tinting of the museum windows; the newsletter; license plates, throws, books and the doughnut sale.Future meetings are scheduled to be held on April 20 and May 18.LansfordBaseball sign-upsThe Lansford Baseball Association will hold a final registration for all age groups on Wednesday, March 16, from 6-8 p.m. in the American Legion Post, Lansford. Registration and fundraiser fees will be collected at this time. The age groups include: T-ball, 5-6-year-olds; Minor League and Little League, 7-12-year-olds; girls' softball, 9-14-year-olds; and Babe Ruth, 13-15-year-olds.
