The Andreas General George S. Patton Jr. VFW Post 5069 provided a $1,000 donation to the Tamaqua Public Library. Gayle Heath, library director, stated the donation came at a great time as state funding for public libraries has been decreasing by about 1.3 percent each year since 2008. Health also pointed out that the library couldn't do without these types of fundraising and monetary donations, also mentioning that these types of donations average less than half of their total yearly income. The Andreas VFW is a yearly supporter of the Tamaqua Public Library.
