A Carbon County man has been cited for public drunkenness.

State police at Lehighton said about 10:26 p.m. on March 4 troopers observed Randy L. Dieter, 38, of Ashfield, standing in the middle of Forest Inn Road, at Delaware Avenue, in Palmerton, while vehicles passed by him. Dieter then was observed walking down a sidewalk and fell into the roadway causing a motorist to swerve to avoid striking him.He was taken into custody and charged, troopers said.
