Mardi Gras at the Panther Valley Public Library

March is chock full of fun at the Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford.

Tomorrow, a Mardi Gras and crafts party will be held from 4-6 p.m. A Lions Club formation meeting follows at 6:30 p.m.On Thursday, visit the library to learn all about Harriet Tubman, born a slave in Maryland around 1820. In 1849, Tubman, about to be sold away from her family, escaped north. But she risked her life dozens of times to travel back down south to help hundreds of other slaves, including her 70-year-old parents, escape.On Wednesday, March 16, a St. Patrick's Day themed crafts party will fill the 4-6 p.m. hours with fun, and children can enjoy St. Patty's Day treats with Miss Bridget on Thursday, March 17.The library will offer Earth Day craft-making from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 23.Wednesday, March 30, features an Easter decorations-making session from 4-6 p.m.Library hours are: Mondays: 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.; Tuesdays: 9 a.m. to noon and 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays: 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.; Thursdays: 5 p.m.-8 p.m. There is no cost for a library card.
