Twenty first time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program on Thursday by county President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II and Senior Judge Richard W. Webb.

If a person successfully completes all the conditions of the program their record his wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program or are revoked from it the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Placed by Judge Nanovic were:Stacy L. Behler, 25, of Lehighton, on a charge of retail theft. She was arrested on Nov. 26, 2010, at the Rite Aid store in Mahoning Township.She was ordered to pay $350 for the cost of the program and render 15 hours of community service.Lauren M. Brosky, 22, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI). She was arrested on Sept. 19, 2010, along Mahoning Mountain Road, in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .17BAC.She was ordered to pay $450 for the program, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and license suspended for 60 days.Jennifer N. Cunfer, 21, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of retail theft. She was arrested on May 22, 2010, at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township.She was ordered to pay $250 for the program and render 15 hours of community service.John Lawrence Deuber, 44, of Bala-Cynwyd, Montgomery County, was placed on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on Dec. 3, 2009, along Longbrook Way at Woodland Place in Penn Forest Township. Given a test, the result was .11BAC.He was ordered to pay $500 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 60 days.Robin Gene Fenstermaker, 21, of Alburtis, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on Jan. 5, 2010, at a vehicle stop at the intersection of SR209 and SR443, in Franklin Township.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and render 15 hours of community service.Terese P. Geiges, 48, of Blakeslee, was placed on a charge of DUI. She was arrested on Oct. 31, 2010, along Mauch Chunk St., in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .13BAC.She was ordered to pay $400 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 30 days.Geraldine Beatrice May Halada, 23, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Sept. 8, 2010, along E. Bridge St., in Lehighton.She was ordered to pay $350 for the program, get a D&A evaluation, zero tolerance on D&A use and render 15 hours of community service.Derek Maxum Hedmeck, 21, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of simple assault. He was arrested on June 19, 2010, by Lehighton police for an incident involving Mariah Graham as the victim and a violation of a protection from abuse order.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program, attend anger management counseling and render three hours of community service per month while in the program.Caleb J. Herman, 20, of Jim Thorpe, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a prohibited offensive weapon. He was arrested on Nov. 14, 2010, by Jim Thorpe police along W. Fourth St., with a switchblade knife in his possession.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program, forfeit the knife and render 15 hours of community service.Patrick J. Janecki, 29, of Albrightsville, was placed on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on Oct. 30, 2010, along Mauch Chunk St., in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .15BAC.He was ordered to pay $400 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 90 days.Douglas Paul Jugan, 48, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of cruelty to animals. He was arrested on Jan. 29, 2010, by Jim Thorpe police for an incident at his home.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program and render three hours of community service per month while in the program.Scott T. Lamanna, 22, of Beaver Meadows, was placed for six months on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on Sept. 24, 2010, along the Stanley Hoffman Blvd., in Lehighton, during a checkpoint operation. Given a test, the result was .11BAC.He was ordered to pay $400 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 30 days.William B. Maurer, 18, of Jim Thorpe, was placed for six months on a charge of persistent disorderly conduct. He was arrested on Nov. 10, 2010, by Jim Thorpe police for an incident at his home.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program, get both D&A and mental health evaluations, attend anger management counseling and render 15 hours of community service.Michael Rehl Jr., 29, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on May 28, 2010, along Summit Ave. and Bridge St., in Lehighton.He was ordered to pay $450 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 90 days.Judith A. Vazza, 61, of Summit Hill, was placed on a charge of DUI. She was arrested on Oct. 22, 2010, along Blakeslee Blvd., in Mahoning Township. She refused a blood test.She was ordered to pay $450 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 60 days.Bradley W. Wetzel, 29, of Lansford, was placed on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on Nov. 13, 2010, along Blakeslee Blvd. E., in Mahoning Township.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and render 15 hours of community service.Charles A. Worthington, 35, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arrested on Nov. 6, 2010, by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident a his residence in Penn Forest Township involving his 12-year-old son.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program, attend anger management counseling and parenting classes.Those placed by Judge Webb:Alex Joseph Alvarez, 20, of Effort, was placed on a charge of criminal conspiracy-theft. He was arrested on Aug. 13, 2010, by state police at Lehighton for an incident in Towamensing Township.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program, total restitution of $1,451.40 and render three hours of community service per month while in the program.Bruce Major, 45, of Blandon, Berks County, was placed on a charge of access device fraud. He was arrested by state police at Lehighton for an incident involving three businesses in the area and using a credit card he was not allow to use.He was ordered to pay $350 for the program, to make restitution in an amount to be determined by the adult probation office, and render three hours of community service per month while in the program.William Albert Parsons IV, 38, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on Nov. 14, 2009, along Delaware Avenue in Palmerton. Given a test, the result was .21BAC.He was ordered to pay $450 for the program, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 60 days and render 21 hours of community service.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
