Carbon dog licenses available on website

Carbon County residents can now purchase dog licenses through the Carbon County website.

County Treasurer Ronald J. Sheehan announced yesterday that the new option is active and ready for residents to use.Dog owners can license new dogs or renew a license by going to

www.carboncounty.com/doglicense.htm. Residents age 65 or older still qualify for a discounted license. The license fees remain the same. A service feel will also be charged by the secure online payment processor. Residents can use a debit card or major credit card during the license purchase.County residents who qualify for a "person with a disability" will need to apply for their initial license in person at the county treasurer's office, or at one of the local dog license agents. This is because Pennsylvania state law requires proof of disability. Eligibility and documentation requirements can be found on the county website. Renewals can be done online.Lifetime dog licenses must be done at the county treasurer's office.The Carbon County Treasurer's Office Online Dog License System was developed with the services of BAS Systems Management Inc.
