Lioness host doctor

Dr. Patricia Rylko, MD, chief of cardiology at Pocono Medical Center, was the featured speaker at the recent meeting of the Western Pocono Lioness Club. In light of February being Heart Health Month, she addressed the topic of Women's Health and Heart Issues and referred to the newly-posted Dietary Guidelines.In the upcoming weeks club members will participate the in the Night of Unity from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, at Pleasant Valley High School; the Lions District Convention, April 1-3; the sponsorship of two Leos to attend the Youth Leadership seminar; the agenda for the Holistic Fair, West End Fire Hall, Brodheadsville, Saturday, April 16; the next club meeting March 22; and the need for officers and other positions for the upcoming program year.PIC back to workThe Pride in Chestnuthill committee will hold its first spring meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, in the Chestnuthill Township building on Route 715. Five or six cleanups a year, mostly in the spring and on Saturday mornings are anticipated.Each clean up is about one to two hours long. Suggestions are welcome.
