Eighteen people entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court this week and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin.

Matthew Charles Hosler, 24, of 511 Arlington St., Tamaqua, had a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) nol prossed and he entered a guilty plea to disorderly conduct for which he was fined $300 and careless driving, fined $25. Hosler was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Robert Minnick.Joseph G. Polusky, 54, Mahanoy City, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), enroll in alcohol highway safe driving school, and receive outpatient substance abuse treatment.On a charge of operating a vehicle illegally on the streets was fined $50. Polusky was cited by Rush Township Cpl. Duane Frederick, on Grier Avenue, Barnesville.Andres Rivera, 49, Minersville, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, attend safety school, receive outpatient substance abuse treatment and submit to random tests.Rivera was in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program but was revoked for violating terms fixed by the court. He was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers.Edward Anthony Bumbulsky, 45, Hazleton, on two counts of DUI was sentenced to serve 90 days to five years in the county prison, pay $3,000 in fines, pay $200 to SAE fund, $100 to CJEA, $200 to Catastrophe fund, attend safety school, and receive intensive outpatient substance abuse counseling. On a charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended shall serve an additional 90 days in prison to begin at the expiration of the DUI sentence and pay a $500 fine. On a charge of restrictions on having alcohol beverages in his car was fined $25.Nicole Marie Porter, 26, Pottsville, on charges of delivery of a controlled substance in Pottsville was sentenced to serve 16 to 32 months in a state correctional institution, pay $300 to SAE fund, $150 to CJEA and make restitution of $226 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and $100 to Pottsville Police Department Drug Task Force.Cody Lee Harris, 19, Valley View, Hegins Township, on a charge of simple assault on Mark Harris, of Gordon, was given credit for serving six days in prison and released on parole for 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and successfully complete an Anger Management Course. Harris was cited by Butler Township Sgt. Eric Vinskie.Edward David Williams Jr., 26, Minersville, on a charge of aggravated assault on Jessica Dennis, Pottsville, was placed on probation 19 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and complete Anger Management Course. Williams was cited by Pottsville Capt. Ronald Moser.Ryan Patrick Miller, 23, Pottsville R.D., on a charge of simple assault on Desire Long, Minersville, placed on probation 18 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of recklessly endangering another person received a concurrent probation sentence. Miller was cited by Minersville Patrolman Bryan Dronick.James Edward Marconis Jr., 22, Pottsville, on a charge of simple assault was sentenced to serve five days to 18 months in the county prison and on a charge of inhaling a solvent substance (Innivera Dust) was sentenced to serve 12 months on probation with the sentence to run concurrent. Marconis was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Michael Stank.Christopher David Books, 20, Tower City, on a charge of criminal mischief was fined $100; disorderly conduct, fined $150 and ordered to make restitution of $1,177.37 to Richard Bettinger, of Williamstown. He also pleaded guilty to conspiring with an accomplice to steal a car radio and was sentenced to serve six to 23 months in the county prison and make restitution of $228.92 to Todd and Jane Shuey, the victims.Theresa Ann Cieniawa, 23, Hanover Township, on a charge of retail theft of merchandise from Walmart Store, Tide Road, Hometown, was placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $87.04 to the store. She was cited by Rush Township Cpl. Duane Frederick.Mary Vernica Leonard, 46, Pottsville, on a charge of retail theft from Waymart Store, Pottsville, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA, and $50 to district attorney's office for bench warrant.Kelly Sue Reigle, 38, Mount Carmel, on a charge of retail theft from Walmart Store in Saint Clair was placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of defiant trespass was placed on probation for 12 months to run concurrent with the first sentence. Reigle was cited by Saint Clair Patrolman Martin Sterner.Corey Paul Whitecavage, 23, Pottsville, on a charge if theft of a bank access card was sentenced to serve seven to two years in a state correctional institution.Dylan Aloysios Berkenstock, 19, Pottsville, on a charge of corruption of minors was given credit for serving 29 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 23 months. On charges of recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest was given concurrent 23 months probation sentences and on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was given a concurrent 30 days probation sentence. He was cited by Trooper Michael Riccardella.Yosura Barbara Santos, 38, Shenandoah, on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle was sentenced to serve 12 months on probation, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of driver required to be licensed was fined $200. Santos was cited by Frackville Patrolman George Parnell. On a charge of DUI filed by West Mahanoy Township Patrolman Raymond Tonkinson III, was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison beginning March 7 followed by four years and 11 months on probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), fined $1,500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, attend safety school, complete outpatient counseling and license suspended 18 months. On charges of careless driving and failing to obey traffic light fined $50.Tammy Josephine McShaw, 42, Pottsville, entered guilty pleas to charges of DUI of alcohol and drugs and operating a vehicle while her license was suspended. The court deferred sentence to allow her to obtain treatment.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
