Four area residents among 42 placed in probation program

Four area residents were among 42 who were qualified by District Attorney James P. Goodman to be admitted into Accelerated Rehabiliative Disposition (ARD) probation program.

The program is for first offenders who were charged with non violent criminal acts. They were admitted by Senior Judge D. Michael Stine at a hearing held in Schuylkill County court recently.If they successfully complete all conditions of their program their record will be wiped clean. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Eric Paul Burdick, 30, of 541 E. Union St., Tamaqua, charged by Palo Alto Patrolman Andrew Lescosky, with simple assault and harassment of Carrie Anne Sunday, ordered to pay a $350 assessment fee to defray cost of the program, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), perform 10 hours community service, obtain drug and alcohol evaluation and make restitution of $584 to the victim.Corey Perry, 39, of 22 Edgemont Road, Lansford, charged by Coaldale Sgt.
