VP of Patient Care Services named at St. Luke's Miners

Kimberly Sargent, RN has been promoted to Vice President, Patient Care Services at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital.

Kim is a 20-year veteran of St. Luke's, having worked within the Network since graduating from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1991. She has worked in, and managed, departments at St. Luke's Hospital - Bethlehem Campus, St. Luke's Urgent Care Center - Jim Thorpe and most recently was the interim manager of St. Luke's Miners Emergency Department. In her new role, Kim will report to Bill Moyer, President, St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital. She will oversee all areas of the hospital related to patient care including the acute care and critical care units, emergency department, oncology services and pharmacy."I am honored to be back at my community hospital," said Sargent. "I was born here and I was raised, and still live, in Jim Thorpe. St. Luke's Miners recently celebrated 100 years of caring for the community and I'm excited to be a part of the great things that are happening here and to lead our hospital into the next 100 years. It's an honor to be working at the place where my family receives care and where I can care for my family, friends and neighbors."During her time with St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network, Kim has actively served on various network committees including those focused on infection control, purchasing services and led various cost-savings projects. She has been a member of the Lehigh Valley Division Advisory Board of the American Lung Association (ALA) of PA since 2008, volunteers with ALA, completed Community Care for Kids Mission work in Ecuador and participates in various events and initiatives at the hospital and in the local community.Kim resides in Jim Thorpe with her husband, Robert, and their five children, Hunter, Carter, Olivia, James and Madison. She is the daughter of Tom and Yong Cha Kurak of Jim Thorpe.
