Atty. Angela M. Stehle candidate for Magisterial District Judge

Attorney Angela M. Stehle, a resident of Franklin Township, will run for the Magisterial District Judge position in Palmerton during the May 17 Primary Election. The seat will be vacated by the retirement of Magisterial District Judge Bruce F. Appleton. She plans to cross-file on both the Democratic and Republican tickets.

Attorney Stehle was born in Palmerton and raised in Lehighton. She is the daughter of Robert and Debra (Schrantz) Stehle of Lehighton and the sister of Bobbie-Jo Stehle, a 2007 Lehighton Area High School graduate. During her sister's senior year, as a result of her mother undergoing cancer treatments, Attorney Stehle served as the President of the Parents Senior All Night Party Planning committee, which raised money through various community events and fundraisers for the annual student All Night Party.Attorney Stehle is a graduate of Lehighton Area High School, where she served as the junior and senior Class President. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Shippensburg University. While at Shippensburg, she was involved with United Campus Ministries and their missionary program, which included a missionary trip to New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Widener University School of Law.The Attorney is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Carbon County Bar Association. As a member of the Bar of this Commonwealth, she is already qualified to assume the position and perform the duties of Magisterial District Judge. She is also admitted to practice in the Federal Middle District Court of Pennsylvania.Attorney Stehle is currently a Board Member and Secretary of the Carbon County Bar Association and she also serves as co-chair for Carbon County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. As a co-chair, she organizes the annual Carbon County Law Day for local high school students and on several occasions has participated in career day at Towamensing Elementary School.Since 2004, Attorney Stehle has been employed at the law firm of Strubinger & Gazo, P.C., located on Delaware Avenue in Palmerton. As an attorney, Ms. Stehle has experience in civil and criminal cases. Civil cases include slip and fall injuries, automobile injuries, dog bite injuries, contract disputes, family law issues, unemployment compensation, social security disability, workers' compensation claims, landlord tenant disputes and other small-claims cases that are often resolved at the district magistrate level. Criminal cases include defense for traffic offenses, misdemeanor offenses, felony offenses and juvenile cases. She is appointed as Conflicts Counsel in Carbon County for criminal cases and is also a court appointed arbitrator and has served as a Chairman on many Arbitration panels. In addition, she is court appointed to represent children and parental rights in Children & Youth cases.Other experience includes working as a solicitor for the Mahoning Township Zoning Hearing Board.As a result of Attorney Stehle's vast experience in the Magisterial Courts she understands the tasks of the job and looks forward to taking on the judicial position. She believes that each case is unique and deserves the utmost attention in order to establish fairness and justice. She understands that everyone is human and deserves to have their day in court.
