Monroe woman jailed for assault

A Monroe County woman was jailed earlier this week for assault and other counts following a domestic incident. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 3:57 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, at 616 Overlook Drive, in the Indian Mountain Lakes development in Albrightsville.

Police responded to that address for a reported domestic dipsute involving several persons. Upon arrival officers made contact wtih Cynthia Fariss, 36, and William Johnson, 43, both of Albrightsville, and James Robbins, 37, of Brodheadsville.Police said the three were engaged in an intoxicated verbal argument prior to their arrival. Prior to leaving the scene Fariss, police said, became disorderlly and threw a beer can at Robbins. Fariss shoved a police officer twice in an attempt to assault Robbins.Fariss was taken into custody and lodged in the county prison in Snydersville. She is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia for a crack cocaine pipe found on her.
