The Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board conducted compliance checks of businesses in the Tamaqua area on Thursday, Feb. 10. Six businesses were checked during the hours of 4 p.m. and midnight.

The enforcement detail found one of the establishments to be non-complaint. Non-compliance is defined as a licensed establishment that sold alcoholic beverages to underage individuals trained and supervised by state police bureau of liquor control enforcement officers.The five establishments that were found to be in compliance were The Happy Endings Inc., 315 N. Railroad, Pine Street Tamaqua Inc., 401-403 Pine St., Golden Spike Inn Inc., Center St., Freddy's Pub LLC, 14-16 Mauch Chunk St., all of Tamaqua; and Argento Brothers Inc., 272 Claremont Ave., Rush Township, Tamaqua R.2.
