Palmerton mayor is candidate for Magisterial District Judge

Palmerton borough's Mayor Brad M. Doll has announced his candidacy for Magisterial District Judge. He plans on cross filing to run on both Republican and Democratic parties. The office is District 56-03-02, which covers the lower end of Carbon County, including the Boroughs of Palmerton, Parryville, Bowmanstown, and townships of East Penn, Franklin, Towamensing, and Lower Towamensing.

Doll was elected mayorin 2009. He served as a borough councilman from 2005 until becoming Mayor and is a member of the Association of Mayors of the Boroughs of Pennsylvania.Doll is a graduate of Lehighton Area High School, and Lehigh Carbon Community College, where he earned an associates degree in Liberal Arts.He has been married to his wife Deborah (Barilla) of Lehighton, daughter of Richard and Charlotte Barilla of Mahoning Township, for the past thirty-one years and they have one son Jason, who is married to Audra (Minnich). Jason is a police officer for Franklin Twp. Brad and Deborah are the proud grandparents of Gavin and Charlotte. Deborah is employed by Penncor and works at their Penns Peak facility in the front box office.Being community- oriented Doll's been actively involved in volunteer community affairs his whole life, as a former volunteer firefighter, and ambulance driver, (where he served on the board of directors in the Lehighton Corp. and is a life time member of Lehigh Fire Co.#1) and previously serving on Palmerton's shade tree commission, on the Borough Planning Commission where he held the position of secretary and chairman, and currently on Palmerton's CERT team (community emergency response team). He was also representative of the borough of Palmerton on the inter community planning commission that drew up the joint comprehensive plan for the Palmerton and Bowmanstown boroughs and the Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships.He's previously held positions as a local part-time police officer, as a dispatcher at the County Communications Center when it was stationed in Lehighton (now known as the 911 center) and most recently was employed as a supervisor in the color department at Techna Graphics Service Inc.Doll completed his certification training for District Judges through the state's Minor Judiciary Education Board in Chambersburg, Pa. in 2005 and is scheduled to upgrade his certification this year.Doll is also a cancer survivor and has volunteered at the Relay for Life Event in Palmerton.Jeffrey L.
