The Slatington Woman's Club named Carly Gavalla of Slatington as January's Girl of the Month.

Carly, a senior at Northern Lehigh Area High School, has been playing high school soccer and for Northampton Soccer Club since her freshman year. She is an assistant coach of a youth soccer teamShe is a member of Interact, the Debate Team, Peer Helpers, Bigs and Littles and FBLA.She has received the American Citizenship Award.In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, vacationing, laughing, walking her dog and enjoying life.She plans to attend college for nursing or medical imaging in the fall.Carly is the daughter of Maria and George Gavalla, and has a sister, Casey Gavalla.
