The Concourse Club of Palmerton's January Guiding Star is Jordan Cara Ruzicka, daughter of Debra and Robert Ruzicka of Palmerton. Her school activities include Mock Trial, FBLA, National Honor Society, Art Club and the Avenger newspaper. She is involved in Girl Scouts and is a very talented artist. Jordan is the oldest of five girls and works part time. Her interests are math, drawing, painting and architecture. Her future plans include attend Boston Architectural College.

The Concourse Club is honoring five Guiding Stars from the Palmerton Area High School. The Guiding Stars were chosen by a committee of high school teachers in the Palmerton Area School District. A Guiding Star must be a female student in the top 25 percent of the senior class, involved in both school and community activities. Each Guiding Star will receive a certificate, an engraved Guiding Star charm and a $100 cash award.
