The Nesquehoning Conservation Club will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Maple Shade Meadows.Plans for the upcoming spring fishing derby will start at this time.If any member has any ideas or suggestions, please attend this meeting or contact any officer. The 2011 dues are also being accepted.Summit HillScripture sharingThe weekly scripture sharing sessions sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held tonight at 7 o'clock in the parish rectory.Anthracite LLThe Anthracite Little League (Summit Hill/Nesquehoning) will hold registration sessions at both the Summit Hill and Nesquehoning borough buildings on the following dates: Saturdays, Feb. 12 and 19 and March 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.The league will hold a reorganizational meeting tonight at 7 o'clock in the Nesquehoning Borough Building.Methodist ChargeThe schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, Jan. 30, is as follows:Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church.The Rev. The Parks & Recreation Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. and the Community Development, Planning, Zoning & Ordinance Committee will meet at 7:15. Both meetings will be held in the community center, Ridge Street.The meeting of council's Public Works Committee which had been scheduled for Monday, Jan. 31, has been canceled.That committee will meet again on Monday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the community center.HOPE seeks helpHOPE (Helping Older Parishioners Earnestly), an organization started at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, is seeking volunteers.Persons interested in working in pairs in this new parish ministry can call Marilyn Barrett, (570) 645-0370, for additional information.
