Monroe crashes

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on two crashes investigated by officers, both occurring on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

The first crash occurred about 12:41 p.m. along Locust Ridge Road in Pocono Lake. Police said a 17-year-old male from Pocono Lake was driving northbound and he lost control of his vehicle due to snow and ice on the roadway. The vehicle impacted with a telephone pole along the berm. The teen was not injured. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.The second crash occurred about 1:63 p.m. along SR940 in Pocono Lake. Police said Mark Tieszen 39, of Pocono Lake, was westbound and due to slushy road conditions he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crossed into the opposing lane and struck a vehicle operated by Jamie Manobana, 46, of Blakeslee, head-on.After impact Tieszen's vehicle left the road and collided head-on into a tree. No injuries were reported.Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
