Car slides into ditch

Similar scenes like this were repeated over the area yesterday into today becaise of yesterday's accumulation of snow, sleet and rain. Just before noon yesterday, while traveling west on SR54 in Hometown, this grey Mitsubishi, operated by a female, slid off the road after hitting a patch of snowy slush. Rush Township police and Hometown fire police responded. While leaving this accident the township's police cruiser was involved in a minor accident after Cpl. Duane Frederick avoided another car hydroplaning towards him in the officer's lane. The vehicles impacted slightly but no injuries were reported in either accident. Tamaqua police and the state police responded to the second accident.
