A Schuylkill County driver fled the scene of an accident, was later stopped and is facing driving under the influence (DUI) and other counts.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Scott R. Seiders, 21, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 1994 Honda along River St., Cressona, about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 16, when the car entered the yard at 144 River St. The car sideswiped a pole with its right front and snapped a guide wire. Seiders then fled the scene.The homeowner was able to give troopers a description of the vehicle. It was later located in Pottsville and stopped by city police. Seiders was held at the scene until troopers arrived.He was found to be under the influence and will be charged with DUI plus motor vehicle code violations, troopers added.
