A Slatington resident received a credit on her sewage bill after having sewage water in her basement several times during a sewer construction project.

Robin Schmall told borough council members that M F Ronca and Sons Inc. has fixed the sewage problem that she brought to council's attention in a meeting last October."My only problem is that it took this long to get it done," Schmall said. "It should have been handled properly from the beginning. It shouldn't have taken two months."Council voted to credit Schmall's sewer account $115 for two months of service due to the problems that arose.In other business, council:• Voted to retain Spotts, Stevens and McCoy Inc. for the projects that they're still working on.• Agreed to start looking for candidates for the position of borough engineer.• Voted to place "No Truck" signs on Fairview Avenue at East Church, Franklin and Washington streets. According to Police Chief David Rachman, a truck has already "bottomed out" in that alley.Councilman Paul Hoffman said that local people know not to go that way with a truck but that drivers from outside the area are not aware.
