Barnesville accident leads to separate charges against driver from Mahanoy City

A Mahanoy City man admitted to driving his vehicle under the influence of heroin following a one-vehicle crash Wednesday in Ryan Township.

State police at Frackville said Jonathan Ryan Dombrowski, 22, was driving a 1992 Buick Century along SR54, in the area of the Lakeside ballroom when the car left the road and struck a utility pole at about 12:25 p.m.During the course of the investigation, Dombrowski admitted using heroin in the past two days. He was placed under arrest and taken to a Pottsville hospital for a blood test.Troopers also learned from Mahanoy City police that Dombrowski had burglarized his grandmother's home and had stolen her vehicle. It was the same vehicle involved in the crash.After submitting to the blood test, Dombrowski was turned over to borough police who charged him with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and other charges.In addition to the driving under the influence (DUI) charge, troopers will also charge Dombrowski with receiving stolen property.
