Pocono arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on several arrests made by officers recently.

On Dec. 29 about 2:05 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle traveling westbound on Long Pond Road near Patricia Drive, in Tunkhannock Township, for numerous traffic violations. Several juveniles from the Saylorsburg area were in the vehicle and found to have been drinking alcohol. Three of the occupants were charged with underage drinking, police said. Because of their ages, their names were not released.On Saturday, Jan. 8, about 6:23 p.m. police received information that Vincent Moretti, 51, of Bridgewater, N.J., was residing at 26 Knob Road, in Mt. Pocono, and was wanted by New Jersey State Police.Moretti was observed at the residence and arrested without incident. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and placed in the county prison in Snydersville pending extradition back to New Jersey.On Jan. 6 about 6:05 p.m. officers were called to Bills Shop Rite, SR940, in Mt. Pocono, for a male being chased by store security for attempted theft. The male was stopped and the item recovered but the male refused to give his identification and fled on foot.The male was later identified as Geraldo Luis Rodriguez, 24, of 3404 Emerald Blvd., Long Pond. He was charged with disorderly conduct, police said.Also on Jan. 6 officers were called to Bills Shop Rite about 3:58 p.m. for a female in custody for retail theft. Upon arrival officers found Lisa Lucas, 27, of 165 Main St., Tobyhanna. She was arrested and charged with theft and later released.
