First-time offenders placed in ARD probation program

Two first-time offenders in the criminal justice system was placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program on Thursday.

If the two successfully complete all conditions of the program their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program or are revoked from it the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.The two were placed by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.They were:Robert Bruce Rimbey Jr., 55, of Blakeslee, was placed for a year on a charge of persistent disorderly conduct. He was arrested on Oct. 31 by Mahoning Township police for an incident along Mauch Chunk St.He was ordered to pay $350 for the cost of the program, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 15 hours of community service.Tiffany Scott, 23, of Lehighton, was placed for two years on a charge of access device fraud. She was charged for an incident on July 25 involving the illegal use of a credit card with Ellen Dreisbach the listed victim.She was ordered to pay $350 for the program, make restitution of $733.46, get a D&A evaluation, and render 15 hours of community service.
