A 78-year old woman was injured Tuesday evening when involved in a crash along SR209 in Franklin Township. The crash occurred just after 5 p.m. at the intersection of with Maple street. The woman's car apparently collided with a pickup truck located at the scene. The woman was extricated from the wreckage by members of the Franklin Township Fire Company.The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics then transported to an area hospital. Franklin Township fire police maintained traffic control at the scene reducing the northbound lanes to one lane. Township police are investigating the incident.
