St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church sets Christmas services

St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 9 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, will host services for the Christmas season.

A service of the Great Compline with Litia for the feast of the nativity of the Lord and a medley of Christmas carols will be held at 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6.At 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, there will be divine liturgy of Christmas Day with festal anointing.A divine liturgy for the feast of the Synaxis of the Birthgiver of God with festal anointing will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.At 10 a.m. Sunday, there will be a divine liturgy for the Feast of St. Stephen the Deacon, the first martyr, with festal anointing.A Great Vespers with Litia for the Feast of the Circumcision of Christ and the Feast of St. Basil the Great will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13.At 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, there will be a divine liturgy for the Feast of Circumcision of Christ and the Feast of St. Basil the Great, with festal anointing and distribution of the St. Basil Bread, New Year's Day on the Julian Calendar.The Rev. Robert J. Teklinski, pastor will officiate at the services.
