Schuylkill crashes

State police at Frackville reported on several crashes probed by troopers along Schuylkill County roadways.

Troopers said a crash occurred about 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, along Coal Street, Blythe Township, just east of SR209. Troopers said Monica N. Mishoe, 22, of Cumbola, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was westbound when her vehicle was struck by a 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven Barbara A. Yenelavage, 55, of Cumbola.Troopers said Yenelavage was in the center of the road due to parked cars on the right side. She failed to yield the right of way to Yenelavage, troopers said.Mishoe sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Yenelavage and her passenger, Kathleen M. Yenelavage, 77, of Cumbola, were not injured.Troopers cited Yenelavage for driving on the wrong side of the road.Troopers said a crash occurred about 9:53 p.m. on Friday along SR61 in New Castle Township. Troopers said Randy G. Williams, 54, of Pottsville, was driving a 1994 Dodge Intrepid northbound when he lost control. The car went onto the berm and struck a guard rail on the east berm. Williams was not injured. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.Troopers investigated a crash about 7:35 a.m. on Friday along SR61 in Blythe Township. Troopers said Colleen M. Gilgore, 36, of Ashland, was driving a 2006 Dodge Durango southbound in the area of Mall Road, near the Schuylkill Mall, when she lost control negotiating a right curve. The vehicle continued south and went onto the right side and over the on-ramp. The vehicle then struck a light pole on the right shoulder knocking down the pole.The vehicle then continued south and struck an embankment, rolled over several times ejecting Gilgore from the vehicle. The vehicle came to rest on its roof facing west.Gilgore came to rest on the shoulder of the road about 20 yards from her vehicle. She was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, troopers said. She was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.A crash occurred about 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Gregory T. Hemingway, 62, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck southbound when the truck left the road and struck the guard rail along the west berm. Hemingway and his wife and three other passengers, were all not injured, troopers said.He was cited for careless driving, troopers said.
