Snowmobile safety course planned

Published September 29. 2011 05:01PM

Area snowmobilers interested in taking the Pennsylvania Snowmobile Safety Course may enroll for the course, according to Dennis Blocker and Richard German, who have volunteered to organize the program in this area.

The program is designed for youngsters 10 to 15 years of age.

The course consists of one eight hour session. The safety training will be held at Blockers Enterprises, 770 State Road, off Route 248, Parryville, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18. There is no charge to attend the safety course.

Snowmobilers and potential snowmobilers may enroll for this safety course by calling (610) 377-0440.

Dennis Blocker urges area snowmobilers to enroll now as class size is limited to the first 25 people who apply. All students who pass the course successfully will receive a Certificate and Safe Snowmobiler patch issued by the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Youths between the ages of 10 and 15 years of age must have the Snowmobile Safety Certificate before they operate a snowmobile on any land except on land owned by their parents or legal guardians.
