Two teams gain initial victories

Lehighton's soccer team and Weatherly's volleyball squad both posted their first wins of the season.

The Indians blanked East Stroudsburg South, 1-0, while the Lady Wreckers swept past MMI.BOYS SOCCERES South-LehightonAnthony Rossino scored the game's only goal to lift Lehighton to a 1-0 Mountain Valley Conference win over East Stroudsburg South.Rossino took a pass from Geoff Ebbert and beat the Cavs' Luke Cason at the 24:11 mark of the first half to give the Indians their first win of the season.Lehighton (1-4; 1-3) was outshot in the contest, 9-5.
