Fall foliage hike

Carbon County Environmental Education Center is hosting a "fall foliage hike" with Bureau of Forestry Consultant, Jeff Wartluft, along CCEEC's trails at peak fall foliage season

He'll help identify tree species behind the blast of color, and explain why leaves change. The trails are easy to traverse but fall can be wet time of year here at the center so good foot gear is recommended. The program is free for CCEEC members, and a nominal donation is requested of non-members. For more information, or to register for this program, call (570)-645-8597. CCEEC is located at the west end of Mauch Chunk Lake Park, just outside of Jim Thorpe, along Lentz Trail. All ages are welcome.
