Lansford Police Chief John Turcmanovich has released his report for October.

Calls for service: 355; six abandoned vehicles; four ambulance calls; one be-on-the-lookout alerts; five accidents; seven alarms; 12 animal complaints; one sexual assaults; nine calls to assist agencies; 12 calls to assist police; 20 calls to assist persons; four attempted break-ins; one attempted homicide; four physical assaults; one burglary; four calls to check residences; six calls to check areas; two calls to check vehicles; two fire calls; 10 civil actions; one forgery; four code enforce./ordinance incidents; four court cases; seven incidents of criminal mischief; eight calls to check welfare (person); three 911 hang-up/hang up/open lines; seven disturbances; one domestic (arrest); seven drug complaints/investigations; nine domestic (non-arrest); 39 information instances; three fights; one shots fired investigation; 42 follow-ups; 20 cases of harassment; two hazards; three instances of disorderly conduct; 13 court cases; eight protection-from-abuse orders; two noise complaints; six parking problems; one missing persons report; one trespassing report; one loitering complaint; seven incidents of suspicious activity; 14 thefts; 12 traffic incidents; one incident of terroristic threats; six phone assignments; three cases of unwanted person; four warrant services; ten criminal arrests (nine adult and one juvenile referral); ten misdemeanors three simple assaults, one persistent disorderly conduct, two false alarms, two escapes, one false identification, one retail theft, one defendant committed to prison, and two protection-from-abuse violations.Police also issued 24 citations. They include 13 traffic citations: one each for obedience to traffic control devices, operating vehicle without insurance, operating vehicle without registration, unauthorized transfer of registration, general lighting requirements, registration of an all-terrain vehicle, and duty of driver upon approach of emergency vehicle; and two each for driving under suspension, driving without a license, and operating vehicle without inspection.The 11 nontraffic citations included one for underage drinking; two each for harassment and dog ordinance; and six for disorderly conduct. Police also issued six parking tickets.The police vehicles racked up some miles during October: Unit 101 (a 2009 Ford) was driven 779 miles and now has a total of 30,418 miles; unit 102 (a 2007 Dodge), was driven 1,346 miles for a total of 69,547 miles; unit 103 (a 1997 Ford), was driven 261 miles for a total of 115,481 miles; unit 104 (a 2006 Ford), was driven 1,079 miles for a total of 42,027 miles.
