The Carbon County Area Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame will induct its 2011 class at a banquet on Sunday, May 29 at Memorial Hall in Jim Thorpe.

This will be the 18th class to be inducted by the Carbon County Chapter.Doors open at 1 p.m.. Today's featured class is from Tamaqua.PAT DAVISONPat Davison graduated from Tamaqua Area High School in 1965 where he was a standout athletes in both football and baseball.In football, Davison earned three letters while playing the positions of tackle, fullback and linebacker on the varsity team during his four years at Tamaqua. He was a member of the 1962 Tamaqua Championship team and was one of three captains during his senior year. Davison was named to the All-county team and received Honorable Mention on the All-State team. He was also nominated for the Big 33 Football Classic as an alternate. In 1964, he was awarded the Most Valuable Player in the annual Schuylkill County Dream Game while playing for the North Squad.In baseball, Davison played centerfield and third base. He was selected to play on the All-Star team three times and also excelled while playing Legion ball.After high school, Davison served in the United States Air Force and earned the rank of Sergeant. He served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969 during the "Tet Offensive." While in the United States Air Force, Davison umpired Little League Baseball while stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. After returning home, he coached Knee-High football at Tamaqua.In later years, Davison played semi-porfessional football for three years for the Schuylkill County Coal Crackers where he started as offensive tackle helping them in winning two league championships. He received offensive lineman awards in the Seaboard Football League and the Interstate Football League.He was inducted into the Tamaqua High School Hall of Fame as a member of the 1962 Championship team.Davison resides in Hometown with his wife, the former Karen Mundy. They have two daughters, Lindsey, wife of Anthony Schorer of Grosse Point Woods, Michigan, and Ashley, also of Hometown.ED TITUSA 1984 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, Titus led his teams to a 76-13 record, a District 11, PA Eastern State and PA State runners-up during his basketball career. His personal accomplishments led to his No. 22 being the first boys' basketball jersey number ever retired by the school district. Titus played for coal region legend Robert Fulton for one season and Ed Wise for his junior and senior seasons. He was an All-State Honorable Mention selection for '82-'83 and '83-'84.Titus finished his career with 1,537 career points which made him the school's all-time leading scorer at the time. He held records for points scored in a season/career, field goals in a season/career and foul shots attempted and made in a season/career. During the '82-'83 state finals, he was named the MVP of the state basketball championships for all classifications that participated. Titus also participated in the 1983 Keystone State Games at Penn State University. His team finished with a silver medal during the games.Titus accepted a full scholarship to continue his academic and basketball careers at Rider University in New Jersey where he lettered for four years. He graduated in 1988 as the school's third all-time leading scorer with 1,390 career points and averaged 13.9 points per game for his career. While there, he was a member of the 1984-85 East Coast Conference All-Rookie Team and led the league in free throw percentage from 1986-1988 shooting 87.7 percent. In 1988, he finished as the 12th ranked free throw shooter in the nation at the Division I level.In 1991, Titus returned to Tamaqua as a boys' assistant basketball coach for three years. In 1995, he assumed the head coaching position which he held until 2001. During his 10 years as head coach, the program won the school's second-ever Schuylkill League Championship and made District 11 and State playoff appearances in seven of the 10 years he was affiliated with the program. While coaching, he became a player for the semi-pro basketball team, the Pottsville Stingers. He played for two seasons from 1993-95 under Philadelphia basketball legend Sonny Hill and averaged 12 points per game.Titus remains active in the game and has been a licensed PIAA basketball official since 2003. He has coached St. Jerome's Regional School CYO boys' basketball teams the last two seasons. He is also the safety officer for the Tamaqua Area Baseball Association where he has actively coached teams at the Little League and All-Star level for the past four seasons.He resides in Hometown with his wife, former Kristine (Tina) Rhubright and his three children, Chris, Eddie and Emily.CINDY MILLERMiller is a 1980 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and still is the school's all-time leading scorer in basketball both boys and girls with 2,155 career points.Miller reached the 1,000 point plateau as a sophomore and broke the 2,000 mark as a senior. She became the school's first-ever player to score a 1,000 points in her career as well as grab 1,000 rebounds over her career. Miller pulled down over 1,500 in her days as a Blue Raider basketball player.Miller was a member of Tamaqua's PIAA Class 2A State Championship team in 1978. She received Second Team All-State honors in 1978 and 1980 and was the selected First Team All-State in 1979.Miller later played basketball on a full scholarship at the University of North Carolina.Miller earned an undergraduate degree in Business/Humanities from Penn State University and recently completed a Senior Executive Program from the London Business School. She currently resides in London, England with her partner for 20 years, Karen Deininger.
