Disaster relief

Zion United Lutheran Church of Brodheadsville has a disaster response team named Mission Possible. The group is in its 15th year.

The first trip was to Moorhead, MN and Fargo, ND in 1997. Each year since then Mission Possible has gone someplace in the U.S. to assist in rebuilding homes damaged from a natural disaster.

This May the group of 11 went to Nashville, and included Zion members Frank McCarthy, Diane Payne, Jamie Schuler, Bob Neuman, Kevin Bochantin and Charles and Joanne Rush. The group worked on four different homes while staying at a home owned by the Episcopal Church that is being used by Lutheran Disaster Relief.

All did hands-on repair work while Joanne Rush was able to help the director, Kathy Thoreson, with office work.
