A legislative aide to State Senator David Argall (R-24) is leaving his post to assume the executive directorship of a State Senate Committee.

Nick Troutman announced Wednesday that he has accepted a position as Executive Director of the State Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee, under the leadership of Senator Gene Yaw (R-Lycoming).

"The acceptance of this position necessitates my resignation from Senator Dave Argall's office, effective February 10," said Troutman in a statement contained in a news release about the move.

Troutman, who is also the mayor of the of Gordon, Schuylkill County, said he is looking forward to his new opportunity.

"As much as I will miss my coworkers in this office, I value the opportunities I had learning from them," he said.

"Having worked for different senators has given me a unique perspective on how elected officials view public service, work with their staff, colleagues and deal with their constituencies.

"I especially cherish the time I spent working for the late Senator Jim Rhoades, a man who had taught me what being a good and decent public servant really is all about," he added.
