Tamaqua Chamber seeks new logo

The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that it is seeking entries to "put a new face" on the organization.

The Chamber is sponsoring two separate contests, one for a new logo and one for a motto, with cash and other prizes to be awarded to the winning entries. The Chamber's current logo contains some familiar images that are part of the Tamaqua Area's heritage, including a Native American teepee and a running deer. The Chamber's board and marketing committee are looking for a new look, but one that can also touch upon the area's past as well. The Chamber plans to use the new logo designs in its marketing materials, both online and in print. The logo must reflect both the progress and history of the Tamaqua Area. It must be an original design and may incorporate local landmarks or symbols, denoting progress and cooperation between the community and business. The logo should be easily reproducible and basic in nature and may be submitted in either hard copy or electronic format. The motto, or tagline, should be a brief statement that will be easily remembered and one that will identify the community with a united sense of progress and cooperation between citizens and business. Both the logo and motto must convey the positive aspects of the Tamaqua Area. The contest is open to all age groups, individuals or organizations and each category must be entered separately. The winning submissions will be unveiled locally at the Chamber's annual dinner, scheduled this year for Wednesday, April 27.Entries in either or both categories must be received by the Chamber, in the format listed in the rules for the competition, no later than March 2. Submissions will be accepted in a variety of forms, hard copy or electronic. The complete set of rules and guidelines are available on the Chamber's website at

www.tamaqua.net or can be picked up at the Chamber office, located at 114 West Broad Street. Call (570) 668-1880 for more information.
