Parents/guardians of incoming ninth grade and current ninth through 11th grade Jim Thorpe Area High School students are invited to course selection information meetings at Jim Thorpe High School auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the following times: 6:30 to 7 p.m. for students entering 10th through 12th grades; and 7 p.m. for students entering ninth grade.

Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to learn more about the courses offered at Jim Thorpe Area High School and to meet the math, English and elective department chairs, the high school counselor and administration. The meeting will provide the opportunity to learn about the many academic offerings at the high school and match them to the student's future goals. Whether the student will just be entering high school or preparing for their senior year, parent/guardian involvement in this meeting will help the student make the best course selections for the 2011-2012 school year.Parents/guardians of students who are currently attending a parochial school or who will be moving into the district are also invited to attend.Anyone unable to attend the meeting can download a copy of the presentation and course selection handbook at
