Three Lehighton property owners were cited for violating a borough ordinance for failing to remove snow/ice from their sidewalks.

Borough police said the following were issued citations: John Nichols, 405 New York Ave., Wildwood, N.J., for property located at the northwest corner of First and Iron streets; Northeast Counseling Services, 750 E. Broad St., Hazleton, for property at 460 S. Seventh St.; and Demetrius Haikalis, 335 Center St., Lehighton, for property at 209 N. First St.Police reminded owners and residents to remove snow and ice from sidewalks within 24 hours after the snow or ice has ceased to fall or form. Failure to comply with the ordinance will result in the issuance of a citation.All borough ordinances can be found at
