State police at the Fogelsville barracks said Nelson A. Capote, 19, of Wind Gap, will be cited for Motor Vehicle Code violations as a result of an accident at 3:25 p.m. Dec. 24 on Interstate 78 in Weisenberg Township.

Police said he was driving a 2000 Plymouth Neon eastbound when a tractor trailer operated by Elizabeth Alves, 37, of Pineville, La., which was traveling in front of the Neon, slowed down with traffic ahead of it in order to avoid debris in the highweay. Police said the front of the Neon impacted the rear portion of Alves' 2011 GMC Acadia, travelling partially underneath the vehicle. After the units separated, Capote swerved the vehicle counter-clockwise onto the left shoulder of the road.Police said neither driver was injured. The Neon was towed from the scene.
