Jesse J. Aungst, 19, of Pine Grove, sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 1:10 a.m. Dec. 19 on Route 895 in Washington Township, Schuylkill County, according to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Police said he was flown by the Life Flight 5 helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for treatment of injuries.Police said he was driving a 1997 Saturn west on Rt. 895 at an apparent high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The car slid sideways out of control, traveled about 140 feet and hit a utility pole with its right front door area. Police said he was trapped inside the vehicle until being extricated by members of the Summit Station and Pine Grove fire departments.Police said numerous charges will be filed against Aungst. A charge of driving under the influence of alcohol is pending results of a BAC test, police said.
