State police at the Lehighton barracks reported Tuesday they expect to arraign two individuals on charges relating to a sexual assault on a female family member from 2004-2008.

Police said Michael Steven Taschler, 79, of Covered Bridge Road, Kunkletown, and Debbie Lynn Green, 39, of Avenue A, Palmerton, were scheduled to be arraigned this morning at 9 o'clock before District Justice Bruce Appleton of Palmerton.Police said it is alleged Taschler sexually assaulted a female family member from the time she was nine to 14 years old. Police said the victim confided in Green several times and informed her that the assaults were occurring.Police said Green threatened to physically harm the victim if she told anyone. Police said although Green had knowledge of the incidents she did not prevent them from happening, nor did she report Taschler to authorities.The assaults are alleged to have happened in Lower Towamensing Township. Trooper Patrick J. Finn is investigating the case.
