Peter Kupec of Lansford stands next to his elaborate Christmas creche. This is the first time he's set up the creche since his wife of 54 years, Bernadine, passed away in June 2009. The couple loved to sit and gaze at the creche, which Kupec said kept them mindful of the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ. In addition to the creche, Kupec's home features displays of angels - "Bernadine loved angels," he says - decorated trees, garlands and lights. He says he decorated this Christmas at the urging of his daughters, Mary Ann DiMattia and Ann Therese Plocinik and for his grandchildren, P.J. and Michael Kupec, Allyse and Lauren DiMattia, and Anthony, Ashley and Amanda Plocinik.
