A 2002 Chevrolet Trail Blazer sustained heavy damages in a crash Dec. 18 at 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of routes 924 and 339 in East Union Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Arsenio Santiago, 26, of Hazleton, was driving the vehicle southbound on Rt. 924 when he lost control of it due to black ice on the roadway. The vehicle exited the left side of the road and struck a tree with its passenger's side.No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.Police said the roadway was closed for about an hour due to the crash.
