Eagle Rock developer given extension on plans

A time extension was granted by the Schuylkill County Planning Commission to Eagle Rock Resorts Company, Hazleton, to complete its plans for three subdivisions known as Western Summit South Phases 5, 6 and 7, all located in East Union Township in order to get final approval . The holdup is the developer has not as yet received a construction bond as it required by the commission.

In its monthly meeting held at the courthouse Pottsville Wednesday evening the commission granted final approval to Donald T. Kilner to subdivide 19.6 acres in Barry Township for annexation. The area is zoned Agricultural District.The commission reviewed several projects and had no comment. An amendment is sought in East Union Township's zoning ordinance to change the zoning map for property owned by Eagle Rock Resorts Company to R-3 (Multiple Residential).Mahanoy City borough has applied for a grant from USDA Rural Development to construct a complaint rampart at the former McCann Business School at 2 E. Pine St. Commonwealth Environmental Systems is seeking a permit from Pennsylvania Department of Environmenal Protection to construct a new leachate treatment plant for the existing landfill in Foster Township.The commommission reviewed subdivision plans submitted to local planning commissions and had no comment.Scott H. and Cindy M. Erney have submitted a plan to East Brunswick Township Planning Commission to subdivide two lots into single family residential; Chestnut Hill Phase IV has submitted a plan to North Manheim Township Planning Commission to subdivide four lots into single family residential and Larry and Rita Bensinger have submitted a plan to Walker Township Planning Commission to subdivide one lot for a single family residential.
